Renewed Hope Media Team Extolled for Promoting National Development

ABIA – Governor Alex Otti, has extolled the Renewed Hope Media Team for their effort in promoting National Development through responsible journalism and public communication.

Governor Otti, who stated this during a dinner at Michael Okpara Auditorium Umuahia, said that the visit of the Media Team in the state is a testament of the vital role the media play in shaping public discourse, fostering accountability as well as strengthening democracy.

The Governor, represented by his Deputy, Engr. Ikechukwu Emetu, while commending the media team for their informed decision and participating meaningfully in the development of the country also urged them to remain steadfast to the principle of professionalism, objectivity, fairness and accuracy.

He emphasized the need to groom and mentor the next generation of journalists noting that the nation requires journalists who are equipped not only in technical skills but also in strong ethical values, integrity and commitment to public trust.

In his remarks, the Commissioner for Information, Prince Okey Kanu, disclosed that the National Media Tour is designed to showcase key development projects executed under the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu which provides not only transparency and accountability in governance but provides an opportunity for Nigerians to objectively access the part of government policies and projects on the lives of the citizens.

Also, the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Chief Bayo Onanuga, explained that the Federal and state government are working together for the good of the citizens and thanked the Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, for the immense infrastructural developments in Abia.

Contributing, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Publicity, Mr. Ferdinand Ekeoma, assured the Renewed Hope Media Team that the visible infrastructure in the state is a true reflection of what Governor Otti is doing in the state and promised the team of profound hospitality by the government and people of Abia.

The Speaker Abia State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emmanuel Emeruwa, Chief of Staff to the Governor, Pastor Caleb Ajagba, Chief Sunday Akindare, Abia state Labour Party Chairman, Hon. Peter Azubuike, Foreign Media Teams, Traditional and Religious leaders among others were present during the event.
