Gov Otti Set to Mark 3rd Year Anniversary

The Abia state government says it will later this month mark the 3rd year anniversary of Governor Alex Otti’s administration with the commissioning and flag off of multiple projects across the 3 senatorial zones of the state.
The Commissioner for Information Prince Okey Kanu who announced this while briefing journalists on the outcome of this week’s executive council meeting presided over by Governor Alex Otti, said the 3rd year anniversary will offer the government the opportunity to take stock with regards to the transformation that has taken place under the 3 years administration of the present administration.
Prince Kanu said that a planning committee has already been inaugurated to plan and execute the anniversary events, adding that the time table of events for the anniversary would soon be made available to the public.
Prince Kanu equally announced that the Governor, Dr Alex Otti has approved the appointment of Professor Nneka Chioma Okoronkwo, a professor of Pediatrics and Paediatric Nephrology with 25 years of experience as the new Chief Medical Director of Abia state University Teaching Hospital Aba.
He equally announced the appointment of Dr Nkeiruka Maduekwe a distinguished leader in energy and environmental policy as Project Coordinator NEWMAP under the ministry of Environment.
Prince Kanu said that Dr Maduekwe with many years of expertise in advancing climate governance, environmental justice, and sustainable energy solutions,is also a solicitor and Barrister of the Supreme Court of Nigeria.
The Information Commissioner said before her appointment, Dr Maduekwe served as the director General and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigeria National Council on climate Change between 2024 and 2025,an Associate professor at the Nigerian Institute of Advanced Legal studies and special Presidential Envoy on climate Change.
He said that the new appointees would be sworn in on by the Governor on Thursday this week at the Banquet Hall, government House Umuahia.
