RESUMPTION OF SCHOOL ACTIVITIES

Public and private schools in the state today resumed normal academic activities for the third term of the 2025/2026 Academic session.

Our correspondent Ifeanyi Ogbonna, who monitored the school resumption in Umuahia, the State Capital, filed this report.

 

In some of the schools visited, there were a good number of pupils and students in attendance, with teachers ready for effective teaching and learning

Speaking in an interview the principal of Ibeku High School (Junior section), Lady Ada O. Ocho and her Amuzukwu Secondary School (Junior section) counterpart, Elder Mrs Emilia Odo Kalu expressed happiness with the number of pupils and students in attendance.

 

According to them, the teachers are ready for effective teaching and learning, pointing out that the present administration has encouraged the teachers in the state with prompt payments of their salaries.

Also speaking the Head teacher of School Road Primary School known as Smart school Mrs Stella Iheanacho, her Umuwaya Primary School counterpart, Mrs Oluchi Blessing Kanu, and Head teacher of Ohokobe Umuohu Primary School, Mrs Olekanma Chijioke Ukonu assured that the teachers are committed to giving out their best, while reminding pupils and students still at home that effective teaching and learning have commenced in earnest

 

Speaking after monitoring the school resumption, the Education Secretary of Umuahia North Local Government Education Authority, Mrs Florence Umezurike expressed satisfaction with the attendance of teachers, pupils and students to school on the first day of the school resumption.

Mrs Umezurike encouraged the teachers to always give out their best in service in reciprocation of the present administration’s investment in education, as well as good gestures to them.
