Mayfair Academy Marks 40 Years of Excellence, Graduates Class of 2026

The Acting Director-General of the Broadcasting Corporation of Abia State (BCA), Mr. Francis Nwubani, has congratulated the management, staff and students of Mayfair Academy, Umuahia, on the school’s 40th anniversary and the graduation ceremony of its 2026 graduating class.

Speaking during the event, Mr. Nwubani commended the school for the remarkable milestone achieved over the past four decades, describing it as a testament to 40 years of excellence, diligence and hard work. He applauded the management for sustaining quality education and remaining committed to moulding students into responsible and productive members of society.

The Acting Director-General urged the graduating students to remain worthy ambassadors of the school wherever they find themselves and wished them greater success in their future academic pursuits.

In their separate remarks, the General Manager of the Umuahia Capital Development Authority (UCDA), Mr. Kingsley Agomuo, and the Chairman of the occasion, Dr. Chinonyere Orji, commended the founder of the school, Mrs. Comfort Harbor, and the management for their steadfast commitment and resilience in building and sustaining the institution’s high standards over the past 40 years.

They described the achievement as no mean feat and urged the graduands to uphold the discipline and values instilled in them by the school.

Speaking earlier, the Executive Director of Mayfair Academy, Umuahia, Mazi Chimere Harbor, said the institution has, over the last four decades, nurtured young minds, built strong character and provided quality, affordable Christian education to promote effective nation-building. He noted that since its establishment in 1986, Mayfair Academy has remained a beacon of knowledge, character and hope.

Highlights of the celebration included the cutting of the anniversary cake, the unveiling and launch of the school’s commemorative magazine, cultural performances by students and other entertaining activities. The event was attended by parents, alumni, invited guests and other distinguished personalities.
