A Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja has dismissed the appeal filed by the Former National Chairman of Labour Party, Barr. Julius Abuare challenging the judgment of a Federal High Court which orderd INEC to recognised the LP leadership led by Senators Nenadi Usman and Darlington Nwokocha as Interim National Chairman and Interim National Secretary respectively.

In a unanimous judgment delivered today April 21, 2026, the three-man panel held that the suit was frivolous and devoid of merit, and subsequently dismissed it.

The court went ahead to berate the

Nasarawa High Court judge who gave an interim order against Senator Nenadi Usman, describing his order as reckless, as he acted without jurisdiction.

The court rightly held that the constitution of the interim committee is an internal affair of the party, and added that suit the at the lower court was against INEC and not an internal affair.

The court subsequently affirmed the judgment of the lower court and awarded a

Cost of N10m against Abure.
