Abia launches Maiden Edition of Civil Service Academy Digital Training Program

The Maiden Edition of the Abia State Civil Service Academy Digital Capacity Training Program organized by the State Government to empower Staff of Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) with relevant digital skills has commenced.
Speaking while monitoring the Exercise organized by the State Civil Service Commission in Collaboration with the Office of the State Head of Service and Techrise at the Women Development Center Umuahia, the Chairman, Abia State Civil Service Commission, Pastor Eno Jerry – Eze said the program which would be done in batches, will run from Mondays to Fridays each week.

Pastor Jerry – Eze said the program is designed to empower civil servants for improved productivity, enhanced service delivery and to equip them with 21st century digital skills.
The Chairman said that the training intend to introduce Artificial Intelligence (AI) productivity tools relevant to public sector, and establish a strong digital literacy foundation in the workplace and productivity tools in service reform.
She explained that the training would further foster a culture of digital adoption and continuous learning approach in digital literacy foundation, develop data analysis as well as visualized capacity for evidence-based decision-making.
In an interview some of the participants including Mrs Ozioma Elekwachi of the Office of the Head of Service, Comrade Ben Nwabueze of the Accountant General’s office and Dr. Ndubuisi Nnaji described the training program as an eye opener and impactful stressing that the exercise would go a long way to enhance their digital skills and appreciated the Governor, Dr. Alex Otti for the opportunity granted MDAs to acquire the digital skills.
