The Governor of Abia State, Dr Alex Otti, has urged the 2026 graduating class of Clifford University, Ihie, in Isiala Ngwa North Local Government Area, to remain resilient, determined and financially disciplined as they navigate the challenges of life beyond the university.

Governor Otti gave the charge during the university’s seventh graduation ceremony, where he encouraged the graduates to remain focused on their aspirations, overcome setbacks and pursue success with determination.

Drawing from his experience as a university graduate about 37 years ago, Otti said the challenges confronting young people should not deter them from achieving their goals. He expressed confidence in the graduates’ ability to succeed as they embark on the next phase of their lives.

The Governor also congratulated the award recipients, particularly Lady Akudo Nwabuogu, whom he commended for her support for Clifford University during its formative years.

He further cautioned the graduates against indiscriminate borrowing, urging them to exercise caution when presented with loan offers as they begin their careers and pursue other endeavours.

Also speaking, the member representing Isiala Ngwa North State Constituency, Hon. Chief Collins Iheonunekwu, who earned a First Class degree in Law, emphasized the importance of resilience in the pursuit of academic excellence. He noted that age should not be a barrier to advancing one’s education.
