Abia State Governor, Dr Alex Otti, will on October 21 flag off the construction of Old Express Road, Aba, measuring 3.955 kilometres, and Uratta Road, measuring 3.09 kilometres, as part of his administration’s road infrastructure development agenda.
The Commissioner for Information, Prince Okey Kanu, disclosed this while briefing journalists on the outcome of this week’s State Executive Council meeting, presided over by Governor Otti. He said construction work had already commenced on both roads ahead of the formal flag-off ceremony.
Prince Kanu explained that the projects align with the Abia State Integrated Infrastructure Development Project (ABSIID), which embodies the Otti-led administration’s strategy of addressing long-standing infrastructure challenges through modern and scalable solutions.
He added that more road projects would be flagged off in due course as part of the ABSIID initiative.
